What is
customers_suck?
Customers_suck is a rant community for people to vent about their bad customers who go above and beyond what is considered normal customer behavior.
What is a customer?
A customer is a person who engages you with the intent (or implied intent) to make use of your goods or services.
What is a suck?
A customer sucks when they disrupt the workplace by creating problems, treating you like garbage, or are rude, abrasive, and antagonistic. Sucks involving managers, coworkers, or even relatives are allowed as long as they are acting in the capacity of a customer at the time of the incident. Customer on customer sucks are better left for your own journal.
What is not a customer?
A person is not a customer unless they are currently engaging with you while you are performing your job. Once they leave your store, they are no longer a customer unless they return and again become a customer. The exception to this is if they are treating you as if you are still an employee, i.e. you’re on your break or in a different store and they approach you as if you're still on the clock. Posts focusing on yourself as the sucky customer are best posted in your own journal.
If you are the one engaging a person, they are not considered your customer because they have not consented to being your customer. Examples include telemarketers and kiosk workers.
What is not a suck?
A customer suck is not an every day annoyance because those are often unfortunate parts of your job. Examples include customers leaving shopping carts in the parking lot, customers continuing to shop during closing and customers who don’t understand your menu.

Posting Rules
Breaking these rules will result in at least a Mod Note as defined here
1. Remain on topic. If you aren’t sure if your post is on topic, then don’t post it. Most, if not all of your post, should be about a customer who sucks, not advice or anecdotes. If the story didn't happen to you or if you didn't witness it, don't post it here. Each story must be in your own words (i.e. Don't post news stories or copy/pasted stories from someone else's blog).
cs_comlink is the perfect place for those stories.
2. Customers suck for what they do, not who or what they are or what they look like. Intentionally attacking people based on their race, color, creed, age, sexuality, etc. is not allowed. Your narrow observation does not allow you to make blanket statements. NEVER post personal information about a customer; this isn’t just our rule, this is against the LJ TOS.
3. Sinking to the customer’s level, by taking revenge or acting unprofessionally is not allowed. The community refers to this as “The Zorro rule.”
4. If your story isn’t safe for work, please place it behind a cut. Example: If you work at an adult-themed establishment, some aspects of your stories are not suitable for minors. If you aren’t sure if your post is safe for work, err on the safe side and put it behind a cut.
Icons must be work safe. This means no nudity or implied nudity. Swearing is perfectly fine.
5. Please use default LiveJournal text ONLY; you may use boldface, italics and underlines. Different fonts are acceptable, but please don't make your font unnecessarily large or small. Do not add color to your text in any way.
Pictures are allowed only if necessary to explain your story, and must be behind a cut.
6. You may delete your own post at any time. You may also delete your own comments, as per the commenting rules below. You may not delete anyone else's comments. You may not, under any circumstances, freeze threads or lock/disable commenting. If you feel a thread should be frozen, please contact the mods.
Comment Rules
Post your comments are your own risk. If you say something offensive, be prepared to defend yourself. Disagreements are inevitable and polite discourse is encouraged. Breaking these rules will result in a Warning, as defined here
1. Attack the idea, not the commenter. No ad hominem attacks. Intentionally attacking people based on their race, color, creed, sexuality, etc. is not allowed. NEVER post personal information about anyone else; this isn’t just our rule, this is against the LJ TOS.
2. Since everyone does not have a paid account, deleting your own comments is acceptable. However, the deleted comment must still follow the rules. If you broke the rules in your comment, you will still be warned.
3. No shit stirring. Saying something just to be “first,” to be "in before," or just to be a dick is not welcome. Back seat modding is obnoxious, so please refrain (don't confuse this with people who are helpfully mentioning the rules).
4. Images are currently allowed but please limit yourself to one image per comment. They must be work safe.
Your icons must be also be work safe. This means no nudity or implied nudity. Swearing is perfectly fine.
